- Producer and director, Melitta was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Her credits include ethnographic and human rights documentaries .
In 2001 she co-produced and co-directed "Ganga Ma: A Pilgrimage to the Source”, a haunting study of India's most sacred river and the people who physically and spiritually depend upon it, showcased at several festivals and winner of an award for Best Documentary at the Taos Mountain Film Festival in 2003. She was co-creator of "Jaisalmer Ayo!Gateway of the Gypsies" premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in 2004, a critically acclaimed study of Rajasthan's rich nomadic cultures that seeded the global Romany diaspora and remain a powerful artistic influence in India and in the world today. It has been showcase at Art Movie theaters, TVs and at festivals worldwide including the All Roads National Geographic Film Festival in 2006 and the New York Museum of Modern Art Docs. Fortnight in 2007.
She has recently concluded a human Rights documentary titled 'Never Again" that won 2nd Best Prize at the 2009 Annual Short Film Awards: “The Holocaust Through a 21st Century Lens” sponsored by the Los Angeles Holocaust Museum,

It is with Pride and happiness I would like to share the good news with you that my feature film Peepli Live has been selected for the Sundance Film Festival,USA 2010 in the WORLD CINEMA NARRATIVE COMPETITION segment
I am the Production sound mixer (Location sound) and Sound Designer of the film
It is a rare honor that for the first time a film from India has been chosen at this festival
Peepli Live is one of the 14 films selected from a list of 1022 films up for selection
